By Taylor Neal X BONJIBON
The Sexual Unraveling Project, a collaboration between Taylor Neal and Bonjibon, was a year long exploration of authentic sexuality, which takes the form of an intimate film photography series shot by Taylor Neal (she/they).
With this project, Taylor set out to unravel the nuances and diversity of each human's unique sexuality when removed from the binaries, implications and barriers placed on our sexuality by the outside world; sexuality when given a safe space to be expressed authentically. What does your sexuality, you sensuality, your sexual self, look like when given the space to be unapologetic, raw, and real in its expression?
Through a series of 10 photoshoots with a diverse cast of subjects, Taylor used 35mm film photography to capture this diversity, witnessing as their subjects unraveled before the camera and sunk into their sexual selves with vulnerability and truth.
Taylor Neal (They/She) is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, somatic sexologist, dancer and yoga instructor, who uses creation, movement, and multimedia to gain deeper understandings of authentic human experience. Practically, Taylor’s work draws from her experience in harm reduction and social support, her education in somatic sexology, and her background in dance and performance to offer somatic education rooted in creativity, movement and embodiment. Her cumulative artistic, somatic, and literary practice comes together as a holistic exploration of identity, movement, sexuality, and how the embodied subject navigates space and the natural world.
